The Tussen de Lanen Neighbourhood is located close to the centre of Doorwerth, a village not far from Arnhem. On this site in the 1960s, apartment flats were built in strict grid patterns. Mecanoo's inspiration for the new urban plan took its cue from the beautiful 20-metre high trees and two historic grave mounds on the site. The old neighbourhood has been transformed into a sloping park landscape with meandering footpaths and children's playgrounds dotted throughout and 250 dwellings. In this neighbourhood one does not have to wait for ten years before living in green surroundings, it is already there!........
